Moist Theatre Presents: The Dark Ages

November 28th/29th marked the final show for Moist Theatre in 2013. It was performed in the Robinson Memorial Theatre on McMaster Campus.

This poster marked some interesting process changes as I wanted to get a group shot that had a foreground emphasis while keeping the theme throughout the background.

To keep the medieval theme throughout the poster, a backdrop of Toronto's Casa Loma was decided, and costuming that resembled anything medieval was layered with the classic Moist Theatre attire.

So what's been changed? Most notably the color scheme of everyone's clothes have been altered to follow a simple white, blue, blue-highlight, and black scheme. I also found that pesky tree to be too modern.

This was also the first time I also tried to composite in what would be moving objects, and posed interesting challenges when accounting for the depth and arc in which they would have been fired starting from a simple arrow file.

As May 2014 rolled around, we decided to redo another theme from the past. So I took our old poster and created a new Facebook banner to advertise with. Changes included minor hue and color adjustments to give it a more gritty feel, and obviously having to add all the new show information. Emphasis through exposure and natural skin tones was also increased for the two characters connecting out to the audience (Ben and Colin).
